Pole dancing exercises your whole body with a particular focus on muscular strength and muscle endurance. It's great for calorie burning: in a typical pole dancing lesson, a beginner can expect to burn between 290 and 400 calories an hour, while an advanced pole student could burn anything up to 700 calories.
It's also great fun. So, unlike the boring repetitions of the gym or the uninspiring similarity of most aerobics classes, pole dancing is incredibly rewarding. As you progress, you'll find that you're able to do more and more fun things on the pole, all the time increasing your strength, fitness and coordination.
